Nourishment for the life around us…

Every year, a tree has to show some new growth. New branches, new buds, new leaves—something new has to be there. We also need to show some yearly growth, some “income” from the expenditure of our energy. We need to have some new understanding, some new insight into the meaning and purpose of life. A tree bears fruit. We, too, need to provide nourishment for the life around us.

Your appetite for a more meaningful life.

We can nurture our feelings by doing small things—things we find rewarding while we’re doing them, without an emphasis on outer approval. If you like to draw, spend a few minutes drawing a picture. If you like to sing, sing for your own enjoyment. As your feelings are nurtured, they begin to ask you to do things which you’re genuinely interested in, like really listening to the sound of the water you’re boiling for tea. Or to really look at the birds outside your window. Once your feelings begin participating in your life, your mind starts to yearn for good food, too. Instead of automatically looking at the news and mechanically watching or reading whatever is there, it may ask you to choose something that’s of real interest to you. By nurturing your feelings, you can support your appetite for a more meaningful life.

Your body is not just matter.

Your body is not just matter. There’s a lot more to it. It has an emanation. When you do Breema, your direction is to come from the passive to the active state, by bringing body and mind together, and from the active state to the receptive state, in which body, mind, and feelings work together in harmony. That receptivity enables you to receive verification (through taste) of the fact that you have a body. Through your own receptivity, the recipient may also become receptive to their own body’s existence. When both practitioner and recipient have this receptivity, their emanation creates an atmosphere, a field. That atmosphere supports both to experience real health. In this way, Breema goes beyond the simple laws of arithmetic. One plus one becomes “two-plus.”

…all three parts of you can work together.

To give yourself a bit of a “buffer” for adapting to all of the things that are not in your control, you need a body that is less tense and more flexible, so it can help your mind and your feelings. Gradually, your mind and feelings also become interested in helping your body. Then, when a shock is received from the outside, all three parts of you can work together to balance it, and three can deal with it much better than one alone can. This way, misery doesn’t grip you for so long. Your reactions don’t drain all your energy. That’s one of the benefits of Breema. You can take Breema into your day, and deal with things logically, because your mind is clear. You can be more grounded, because your feelings are balanced. Your natural sense of humor can express itself. You can be more joyful, because your body is much more free of tension.

The only thing you can do is become available…

Don’t think that you are free to be whatever you wish, just like that. In order to become what you truly wish to be, you must follow universal principles, principles of Truth. The only thing you can do is become available, so you can receive truthful knowledge. Even after you receive it, don’t think it’s yours. The moment you claim it’s yours, you lose it. Have you ever seen a firefly? This little insect is very beautiful. It gives light through its tail, and only for a brief second. We can learn two things from it: one, your mind cannot give you light. And two, light can only be created for a tiny second.

Acceptance is the beginning of understanding.

What happens when you accept someone? When you accept someone, you create an atmosphere in them of well-wishing towards you. You have well-wishing for whoever accepts you. Acceptance is the beginning of understanding. When someone is accepted, they don’t hold so much extra around themself. They are simpler. You have more of a chance to relate to them as they really are.

Health means wholeness.

Health means wholeness. You can look at health as a large meadow, a large field. When water flows and reaches every part of that field, it is healthy. When energy flows to every part of our body, we are healthy. When there is a problem, you may begin searching for where the energy hasn’t reached, where it is stuck. But when your diagnosis leads you to a single cause, you’re moving away from the truth. In the interconnectedness and interrelatedness of everything that exists, can you find a single cause for anything? When you look correctly, you find that the cause of any particular thing is everything! That’s why Breema doesn’t diagnose. But to have health, energy does need to flow. So Breema advises us that the best and most effective way to deal with a problem is to increase vitality.

…to have new thoughts, new feelings, a new posture towards life.

Breema offers the possibility of transforming yourself into an instrument that can receive Conscious energy. Otherwise, we only receive energy mechanically, which means we’re always in the past or the future. That’s why we don’t know that we are. We can’t know that unless we are fully present. We practice Breema to get a brand new taste of our existence, to have new thoughts, new feelings, a new posture towards life.

Consciousness grows when you experience that you are conscious.

You may wish to be more conscious, to be present, to be connected. But there is one difficulty—consciousness cannot be developed unconsciously. Consciousness grows when you experience that you are conscious. How can we search for that experience if we’ve never had it? It takes a lot for us to come to the simple fact that we have no idea what consciousness is. It’s harder for us to accept that we are not conscious than to become conscious! Yet no understanding is possible without being conscious.

Striving towards the truth is endless.

The most important aspect of consciousness is the search for the truth. If you think “I have the truth,” that thought belongs to a level of consciousness that is not useful to you. Striving towards the truth is endless. The mountain of development has no peak.
